How to calculate the monthly sessions needed to recoup your investment

  • Calculate your monthly cost (device price ÷ 60 months for purchase, or the monthly fee for a subscription (monthly plan))
  • Calculate gross profit per session (price - consumables)
  • Cost ÷ Gross profit = Monthly sessions required for ROI

10 / monthsessions as a benchmark (based on ¥40,000/month and ¥4,000 gross profit per session)

If 15% of 60 members add an EMS session once a month, that is 9 sessions per month. Calculate this by including the cost of the dedicated pad gel per session.

Operation Rule

Operational rules to establish before getting started

NGWhat to avoid in descriptions for members

  • Definitive claims of efficacy, such as "dissolving fat," "slimming," or "guaranteed"
  • Expressions implying medical acts (treatment, improvement, diagnosis)
  • Presenting before-and-after photos in a way that appears to promise results
  • Explanations that confuse the effects of training with the effects of equipment

For compliance guidelines under Japan's Premiums and Representations Act and Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act, Advertising Expression Guide please see.

OKAn operational format easy to run in gyms

  • Suggesting verbally to members as an optional add-on after their session
  • Clearly state the salon treatment flow, duration, and pricing in the same location as the membership terms
  • Assign dedicated trainers and offer the service only after they complete onboarding training
  • Separate booking slots from sessions to visualize schedule utilization

Securing treatment space and determining linen and changing procedures beforehand makes launching smoother.

Q & A

From personal training gyms
Frequently Asked Questions

The manufacturer, Wamu Corporation, answers frequently asked questions from those considering equipment adoption.

Can anyone receive EMS sessions?

Cannot be used on individuals with implanted medical electrical devices such as pacemakers. Ineligible clients and contraindication areas will be explained in detail during initial training.

Is it better to use it before or after training?

Many gyms start by offering it as an optional add-on after training sessions. Some also combine two devices: warming with Hyper Knife followed by stimulation with EMS.

Is a qualification required to operate it in a gym?

These are commercial devices, not medical devices, and do not require national licenses to operate. They can be operated by trainers and staff who have completed Wamu's training.

How much space is required for treatments?

You can get started as long as you have space for one treatment bed and the main unit. Many gyms operate within a private room or a partitioned corner.

How much does it cost? Is there a subscription (monthly plan)?

Device pricing varies depending on the method of adoption and contract terms, so quotes are provided individually. In addition to purchase, adoption via a subscription (monthly plan) is also available.

Can I try a demo before adoption?

Yes, we offer free trial demos. Trainers can experience the session and treatment time themselves before making a decision.
