About the Products

Q01

What kind of device is Hyper Knife?

Hyper Knife is a professional body contouring (aesthetic) device for aesthetic salons developed and sold by Wamu Corporation. It features simultaneous 'warming' via 1 MHz high-frequency radio waves (bipolar method) and 'loosening' with a specialized handpiece. The developer and manufacturer, Wamu Holdings, is a regular member of the Japan Aesthetic Industry Association.

Q02

What models are available in the Hyper Knife series?

Our current core models are Hyper Knife 7 and the flagship model Hyper Knife EX2. Hyper Knife 7 utilizes a 1 MHz bipolar method, while Hyper Knife EX2 allows switching among three frequencies (1 MHz, 1.5 MHz, and 2 MHz) and features both bipolar and monopolar methods. EX2 comes with a lifetime warranty.

Q03

Is Hyper Knife a type of HIFU?

No, they are completely different devices. Hyper Knife is not an abbreviation for HIFU. HIFU is a technique that focuses ultrasound on a single point, regarding which the Consumer Safety Investigation Commission (Japan) published a report in 2023 concerning accidents in aesthetic salons and similar venues. Hyper Knife is a device that warms and loosens using radiofrequency.

Q04

Is there a home-use version of Hyper Knife?

Hyper Knife does not have a home-use or personal model. It is a professional device designed for treatments performed by salon staff who have completed training. Items sold on the internet as 'home-use Hyper Knife' are not authentic products from our company. Note that the series does include a home-use EMS device called 'Hyper Wave Home.'

Q05

What is the difference between this and other radiofrequency devices like INDIBA?

For instance, while INDIBA uses a 448 kHz system with a return plate, Hyper Knife 7 operates on a 1 MHz bipolar method without a return plate, warming and loosening simultaneously (the flagship model EX2 also features three selectable frequencies and a monopolar method). It is better suited for targeted body contouring (aesthetic) and body sculpting menus rather than full-body thermal wellness care.

Q06

What types of salons use this equipment?

It has been adopted primarily by slimming salons and aesthetic salons, as well as facial care salons, facial contouring and posture-alignment salons, and salons affiliated with personal gyms. Among the 38 client salons interviewed by our company, the breakdown is 22 slimming salons, 11 aesthetic salons, 2 facial care salons, and 3 others. Cumulative adoption exceeds 4,000 locations.
